Nyzo battles most of the disadvantages Proof of Stake (PoS) and Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanisms struggle with. Its novel consensus mechanism is called Proof of Diversity (PoD). Proof of Diversity blockchain uses a particular cycle where verifiers produce blocks in circular order. Verifiers are placed in a so-called mesh. Once you set up the verifier, it has to pass 30 days incubation period. After that, verifiers compete in a lottery process. The lottery winner gets a chance to join the cycle. It is a very different organizational structure where a democratic approach comes to light, which leads to further decentralization. Consensus rules make attacks extremely challenging to achieve as TIME – the ultimate human scarcity forms an obstacle and prevents them.
